What’s in
the cupboard…
Bump! Bump! Scratch! Adam opened his eyes and pulled the
covers up to his chin. He stared around his room, searching the darkness for
the thing that was making those scary sounds. The closet door moved as
something banged on it from the inside. “Who’s there?” Adam asked in a shaky
voice. The closet slowly began to open. Adam jumped out of bed and ran to the
closet door, slamming it shut with his palms. He grabbed his desk chair and
propped it against the door handle. Then he ran out of his room and down the
hall. His brother’s door was wide open, and Adam jumped onto David’s bed.
“Adam?” David asked in a groggy voice. “What are you doing in here?” Adam
tugged on David’s arm. “There’s something in my closet!” “You probably had a
bad dream. Go back to bed.” Adam yanked the blankets off the bed. “It wasn’t a
dream. I was awake, and the closet door started opening by itself!” David
sighed. “Fine. But when we don’t find anything, you have to promise to leave me
alone for the rest of the night.”

Lion and
the mouse….
A lion was asleep in his den when a playful little mouse ran up his
outstretched paw and across his nose awakening him from his nap. As quick as
lightening the lion clapped his mighty paw upon the frightened little mouse and
roared angrily.
“Please don't kill me!" begged the mouse. “Forgive me this time and I will never forget it.
One day I may be able to do you a good turn to repay your kindness."
The lion smiled at the mouse,
amused by the thought that such a tiny
creature could ever be able to help him. So he lifted his paw and let the mouse
go.
Later, while the lion was out hunting, he was caught in a net which
some men had set to catch him. At once he let out a roar that echoed through
the forest, the little mouse heard it and recognizing the voice of the lion who
had spared his life, ran to him.
“Well, my majesty," said the mouse, “I know you
did not believe me when I said that one day I may repay your kindness, but here
is my chance."

and saw cages and areas of land surrounded by fence. The first wild animal they
saw there was an elephant. It had a huge body with long thick trunk and two
ivory tusks. After that, Tommy and Mom went towards the area where the lions
lived. The lions were laying down in the shade and didn’t care about the
curious people who were watching them. Then, Mom and Tommy saw a giraffe.
‘Tommy, do you want to feed the giraffe?’ asked Mom.
‘Yes, but the giraffe is much taller than me,’ answered
Tommy.
Mom led Tommy to the steps that took him to a higher
